Those trying to illegally sell bullion worth 340 million soums were detained in Navoi

Persons who attempted to illegally sell bullion worth 340 million soums were detained in Navoi.

According to the State Security Service, during an operational operation in Navoi, two citizens were detained while attempting to illegally sell bullion for 340 million soums.

It was revealed that these two individuals, residents of the Shafirkan district of the Bukhara region, born in 1987 and 1993, reached an agreement to sell 212.9 grams of bullion to a buyer for 340 million soums. They were caught with material evidence while giving the customer 26.3 grams of 999-proof gold and promising to deliver the rest later, while receiving $20,000 and 100 million soums from him.

In addition, a secret workshop was established in the apartment of one of them to extract gold from sand.

Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against these individuals under Article 177, Part 4, Subparagraph “a” of the Criminal Code (illegal acquisition or transfer of precious metals in large quantities) and investigative actions are underway. This article provides for a penalty of imprisonment for a term of 5 to 7 years.

Earlier, an attempt to illegally export gold and 40 thousand dollars using children was also revealed in the Tashkent region.
