It was also noted that this visit has opened another important page in the history of multifaceted relations. It was noted that the Treaty of Eternal Friendship was signed, and the very name of this document clearly expresses the essence of the ties that bind Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan today.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev paid a state visit to Uzbekistan on August 23-24. On August 23, the presidents held a meeting in a narrow circle in Tashkent and participated in the third meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council.
At the end of the meetings, the Treaty of Eternal Friendship and other important documents were signed, a number of joint projects were launched. The heads of the two states were also awarded the highest state awards.
On August 24, the high-level visit program continued in Bukhara. Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Ilham Aliyev, accompanied by their spouses, visited the city's historical monuments. The Azerbaijani guests were also informed about the potential of the Bukhara region in digitalization, light and electrical industries.
