The Turkpol organization will be established among Turkic states

At the 3rd meeting of the Ministers of Internal Affairs of the Organization of Turkic States held in Kazakhstan, issues of combating crime and security were reviewed. During the meeting, a proposal was made to create the Turkpol organization, similar to Interpol and Europol. TRT Haber reported on this.

This proposal was put forward by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Turkey, Mustafa Çiftçi. According to him, the initiative was supported by Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. The new structure will enable information exchange and joint action between the states.

At the meeting, an agreement was also reached on the establishment of the Council for Combating Crime. This council will operate against terrorism, drug trafficking, illegal migration, and new types of crimes. The agreement on the council is planned to be signed at the Summit of Turkic States to be held in Ankara in October.

"Through this, we will formally further strengthen our capabilities for information exchange, coordination, and joint action in the fight against crime and criminals," the minister said.

Mustafa Çiftçi added that the meeting also discussed the travel of citizens of Turkic states using ID cards and the establishment of joint passport control points at airports. For reference, a summit of the leaders of the Organization of Turkic States, hosted by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, will be held in Ankara in October.

Earlier, it was reported that Turkic states would create a unified digital database of archaeological monuments. At the meeting of the Association of Scientific Research Institutes and Archaeological Centers of the Turkic World held in Hungary, the concept of a new digital portal and electronic atlas was developed. The platform is intended to allow scientists to exchange information on ancient sites, joint expeditions, and scientific research.
