The stadium in the center of Tashkent is being demolished

The former "Tokimachi" stadium in the Yakkasaroy district of Tashkent is being demolished and its site is being cleared for construction of another type. A presidential decree that came into effect a year ago prohibited the repurposing or sale of state-owned football stadiums and fields.

The stadium in the center of Tashkent is being demolished. The former "Tokimachi" stadium, located on Shota Rustaveli Street in Yakkasaray district, is currently being dismantled. Although the sports facilities and related objects are being removed, there is no clear information yet about the reasons for this demolition, the new owner of the land plot, and what will be built in place of the stadium.

We would like to remind you that on August 21, 2025, the presidential decree "On measures to further digitize and popularize the football industry in Uzbekistan" was signed. According to this decree, it was prohibited to change the purpose of use of state-owned football stadiums and fields and to put them up for sale. It was also necessary to make appropriate changes to the information systems of the Cadastre Agency regarding the prohibition of changing the purpose of use of state-owned football stadiums and fields and putting them up for sale.
