The Prosecutor General's Office has created a "Map of the Shadow Economy" of Uzbekistan.

The Prosecutor General's Office of Uzbekistan has developed and launched an electronic platform called the "Shadow Economy Map." This artificial intelligence-based system is designed to detect potential risks associated with illegal cash flow and lost budget revenue.
According to the agency, the platform covers 85 different economic sectors, 14 administrative regions, and 208 districts of the country. Using nearly a hundred indicators, the system automatically identifies cases of concealed trade turnover, unlicensed operations, and declining profitability and margins.
The information systems of 16 ministries and agencies are integrated with the "Shadow Economy Map," ensuring real-time data flow.
Identified risks are classified into three levels: "green," "yellow," and "red." This approach enables the prompt detection of violations, targeted inspections, and avoidance of unjustified interference in the work of law-abiding entrepreneurs.
Earlier, Zafar Khashimov, founder of the Korzinka hypermarket chain, raised the issue of the difficulties businesses face when leasing commercial space during a conversation with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. He specifically noted the practice of paying a portion of the rent "under the table," emphasizing that formally recording these expenses could be significantly more cost-effective.
