The President raised the target for the size of Uzbekistan's economy by 2030 to $300 billion.
By 2030, Uzbekistan plans to increase its GDP to $300 billion, according to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. At the end of 2025, the target was over $240 billion. Over the next 10 years, the government also expects to attract $450 billion in foreign investment and increase per capita GDP to over $10,000.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced an increase in the target for Uzbekistan's economy: by 2030, its volume should reach $300 billion. The head of state made this announcement on August 28 during a ceremony dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the country's independence.
Mirziyoyev emphasized that the coming decade will be a "period of national growth," achieved "thanks to the intellect, labor, and unity of our people."
To achieve this ambitious goal, the government plans to launch seven national programs. Among the first areas are the development of education and workforce training, improvement of the healthcare system, and the transition of the economy to a high-tech model with increased labor productivity.
The third national program will focus on the economy. The president announced that Uzbekistan intends to attract $450 billion in foreign investment over the next ten years.
Against this backdrop, a new economic target was announced: "Maintaining high rates of economic growth, the gross domestic product will reach $300 billion by 2030."
This significantly revises previous plans. Earlier, on December 26, 2025, in his address to the Oliy Majlis and the people of Uzbekistan, Mirziyoyev spoke of the possibility of increasing GDP to more than $240 billion by 2030. Initially, the "Uzbekistan 2030" strategy envisaged a target of $160 billion, but the president later noted that this milestone would be reached as early as 2026.
The $240 billion target remained in place: in July 2026, the president stated that to achieve it, the economy must grow by at least 8-9% annually.
The president also announced plans to create 2 million high-income jobs in industry.
"To fully unlock the potential of young people, the development of startups, venture capital, and artificial intelligence will become a priority," he stated.
Furthermore, the authorities intend to create a special ecosystem that will facilitate the growth of small businesses into mid-sized businesses, and medium-sized enterprises into large companies and corporations.
"Thanks to this, per capita GDP will exceed $10,000 in the next ten years," Shavkat Mirziyoyev concluded.
