The Pentagon and the US Department of Health and Human Services have launched an investigation into a possible link between COVID-19 vaccines and military deaths

An official investigation has begun in the US into the circumstances surrounding the deaths of service members who underwent mandatory COVID-19 vaccination at the request of the Joe Biden administration. This became known from the testimony of Army doctor Theresa Long, given in a Virginia federal court, Politico reports.

According to the case files, Long has been appointed as a senior military advisor to Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and is working closely with Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth. Specialists are reviewing 2,544 registered but as yet unconfirmed deaths among US military personnel entered into the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS).

The main focus of the study is severe complications, primarily myocarditis, which is inflammation of the heart muscle, linked to mRNA vaccines. The investigation is also intended to determine whether previous authorities concealed data on the drug's side effects. The analysis of potential risks is planned to be completed within a year.

At the same time, the US Department of Defense is working as part of a new COVID-19 Recovery and Reconciliation Task Force. The department is reinstating approximately 9,000 service members who were discharged from the armed forces for refusing mandatory vaccination before Congress rescinded the requirement.

Long's testimony was given as part of a lawsuit filed by former Pentagon official Terry Adirim, who oversaw the implementation of the vaccination program in the military in 2021.
