"Boysun doʻppisi" has been state-registered as a geographical indication

It is considered one of the national headwear items that has been sewn in the Boysun district since ancient times. The doʻppi (skullcap) is round in shape and decorated with embroidery in the piltadoʻzi style.

"Boysun doʻppisi" differs from other national headwear with its unique piltadoʻzi embroidery style, geometric patterns, harmony of bright colors, and traditional sewing methods.

Traditional patterns such as chilxol, chayongul, qoʻchqorshoxi, archa, and koʻzacha are used in its decoration.

The registration of the doʻppi as a geographical indication serves to legally protect the aspects of the product specifically associated with the Boysun region.

Additionally, the legal protection of the name "Boysun doʻppisi" is ensured, creating an additional legal basis for preserving its traditional characteristics and production methods.

This is also expected to expand opportunities for promoting the Boysun handicraft product in Uzbekistan and international markets.

For reference, a geographical indication is an object of intellectual property indicating that a product's specific quality, reputation, or other characteristics are linked to a specific geographical area.
