The long-awaited largest Boeing 737 MAX has been approved

The US Federal Aviation Administration - FAA has granted final approval for the operation of the Boeing 737 MAX 10 aircraft. This clears the way for deliveries to airlines of the highest-capacity variant of the 737 MAX family, designed to carry up to 230 passengers.

The largest Boeing 737 MAX, awaited for years, has been approved

According to Reuters, the completion of the certification process was an important milestone for Boeing. The company had been attempting to obtain certification for the MAX 10 since the early 2020s, but the aircraft's market launch date was delayed several times.

Boeing views the new model as one of the key sources of its financial recovery. According to IBA, an analytical company specializing in the aviation sector, airlines have placed over 1,550 orders for the MAX 10. This model accounts for 31 percent of Boeing's backlog of unfulfilled orders for the 737 family.

The MAX 10 is also of significant importance in the company's competition with Airbus in the narrow-body passenger aircraft market. During the period of certification delays, the European manufacturer's A321neo model strengthened its position in the large narrow-body aircraft segment.

Key customers for the new airliner include United Airlines, Alaska Airlines, Ryanair, Delta Air Lines, and American Airlines. Higher passenger capacity is essential to these airlines' fleet development plans.

Boeing has already produced several MAX 10 aircraft. They are awaiting delivery to customers.
