For the sixth consecutive year, the exhibition brings together Russian universities and future applicants from Uzbekistan, becoming an important platform for the development of educational ties between the two countries. Special attention is traditionally paid to the opportunities for free education in Russia, including within the framework of the quota of the Government of the Russian Federation.
Welcoming remarks at the grand opening were delivered by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Uzbekistan, Oleg Malginov, Abduzhabar Abduvakhitov, Rector of the Grozny State Oil Technical University named after Academician M.D. Millionshchikov, Magomed Mintsaev, and the Head of the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Republic of Uzbekistan, Irina Staroselskaya.
On the first day alone, the exhibition was visited by more than 3,000 people. This year, more than 40 Russian universities from 22 Russian cities are represented at the MGIMO-Tashkent venue. The wide geography of participants shows the diversity of Russian higher education: universities of various profiles and regions of the country are represented at the exhibition.
From the very first hours of operation, the university booths were crowded: visitors talked with university representatives, asked questions about admission, choosing a specialty, and student life. For many, the exhibition became an opportunity to get the necessary information directly from the universities where they are considering further study.
The exhibition will continue its work today until 17:00 at MGIMO-Tashkent at the address: 47 Mirzo Ulugbek Avenue. At 15:00, a meeting with representatives of Russian universities, "Parent-Teacher Meeting," is expected. The meeting will take place in the conference hall of the MGIMO branch in Tashkent. Parents will be able to directly ask university representatives questions about admission, education, and opportunities for future students.
