A gardener's vineyard that "did not leave even the street empty": Reportage from Oltiarik

The people of Oltiarik are making significant progress in grape growing. Now they are not only filling their yards with beautiful grapes, but also installing grapevines on the streets of the neighborhood and harvesting. Ahmadjon Ota Otayev is one of such dedicated gardeners.

"Growing grapes is a passion for us"

"It is no exaggeration to say that the people of Oltiarik plant and grow grapes with passion. If you come to Oltiarik these days, your eyes will definitely be delighted. We have started growing grapes by building tall grapevines from inside the houses and on the streets. Our goal is to create beauty and make productive use of vacant land," says Ahmadjon Ota.

"Our yard is a vineyard from head to toe. Our street was empty, and after consulting with my son, we prepared a grapevine on the street and created a beautiful vineyard. We sell the fruits that are suitable for our livelihood," he added.

Currently, Ahmadjon Ota is lovingly caring for grape varieties such as "mers", "kara kelin barg", "kelin barg", "khusaini", and "shohanak".

"We also pick and store grapes for sale in the winter, and we sell the rest in the grapevine itself. We store the grapes in an air conditioner (special warehouse) until the Navruz holiday. There are many people who work. We brought two sheep with the hope of making money from the grapes sold. God willing, we are also trying to increase our livestock," says Ahmadjon Ota Ota Otayev.
