In the coming years, the first cosmonaut from Uzbekistan may travel into space, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced at a ceremony dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the country's independence.

In the coming years, Uzbekistan may send its first cosmonaut into space. The head of state announced this, expressing confidence in the success of this initiative.

The president also mentioned the recent launch of the Samarkand-2028 satellite, which was carried out jointly with Chinese partners. This event, which took place on the eve of Independence Day, evoked particular pride.

"On the eve of Independence Day, together with our Chinese partners, we launched the Samarkand-2028 satellite into space, which makes us especially proud," the president emphasized.

Mirziyoyev added that thanks to the work accomplished, "in the coming years, we will certainly hear news that the first Uzbek cosmonaut will also fly into space."
