Following the attacks, oil prices rose above $4 per barrel on September 2, reaching their highest level in five weeks. According to reports, Tehran retaliated by striking US facilities in Jordan, Bahrain and Iraq.

Iran said it would not allow oil exports from the Persian Gulf. Trump again threatened to hit Iran hard. US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant announced that Washington would impose new sanctions.

According to the Iranian Red Crescent Society, an attack was carried out during a wedding ceremony near the Sirik coast in the Strait of Hormuz. As a result, 5 people were killed and 50 were injured. According to the Mehr news agency, a 4-year-old child was among the dead. The IRNA news agency, citing a provincial official, reported that the number of injured people had reached 68.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement that the US attacks had further aggravated the situation in the Strait of Hormuz. Before the war, every fifth barrel of the world's oil was transported through this strait.

According to the statement of the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, if the "enemy" prevents Tehran from exporting oil from the Persian Gulf, then no one will be able to export oil.

The US Central Command said that it had struck IRGC facilities. The strikes targeted air defense systems, radars, naval assets, minelayers and communications facilities.

Iranian media reported that the US missile landed near the city of Ahvaz and at the Jiroft civilian airport. Explosions were also heard in the port of Chabahar, the city of Bandar Abbas and the Asaluyeh gas center. Iranian state television reported that there were also explosions on the island of Qeshm.

Trump warned Iran not to retaliate. He threatened a more powerful strike.

“If Iran retaliates, there will be almost nothing left of the Islamic Republic!” he wrote on social media.

Nevertheless, the IRGC said it had launched ballistic missiles at a base in Jordan. It claimed that many US military personnel had been killed. However, Reuters, citing US officials, said no one was injured in the attack in Jordan.

The Iranian military is reported to have attacked a US base in Bahrain with drones. Kuwaiti army air defenses said that they were working against enemy drones. Jordanian Armed Forces shot down 10 of the 13 ballistic missiles that entered the kingdom's airspace, while three more landed in uninhabited areas. Bahrain also reported the destruction of Iranian drones.

IRGC ground forces attacked US bases in the northern Iraqi city of Erbil. As a result, a repair facility, technical warehouses and a surveillance balloon control system were destroyed. It was also claimed that fuel tanks were burned and several US soldiers were killed.
