A solemn jubilee evening dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the birth of the founder of the Uzbek State Philharmonic, People's Artist of Uzbekistan Muhiddin Qoriyoqubov, was organized at the "Turkiston" Palace of Arts.
The event was attended by officials and veterans of the culture and art sector, descendants of Muhiddin Qoriyoqubov, media representatives, and the general public. This jubilee evening, organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the State Philharmonic of Uzbekistan, was an expression of high respect for the memory of the master artist who made a worthy contribution to the development of many directions of musical art in his time.
Muhiddin Qoriyoqubov is considered an incomparable historical figure who was not only the initiator of the philharmonic but also made a worthy contribution to the formation of opera, musical-dramatic, and academic art in our country.
Therefore, in the program, artists from the Alisher Navoiy State Academic Bolshoi Theatre and the Muqimiy State Musical Theatre performed excerpts from the first Uzbek operas once performed by Muhiddin Qoriyoqubov, who was highly recognized in his time as "the first baritone of the East."
Also, during this jubilee evening, accompanied by the State Academic Orchestra of Folk Instruments, People's Artists of Uzbekistan Farrux Zokirov, Munojat Yo‘lchiyeva, Mansur Toshmatov, Zamira Suyunova, Jenisbek Piyazov, as well as singers Rustam Alimardonov, Sevara To‘lanova, and Dilfuza Qobilova performed songs from Muhiddin Qoriyoqubov's repertoire.
During the program, works performed by the Honored Choral Ensemble of Uzbekistan and the State Choral Capella, as well as graceful performances by the "Shodlik" dance ensemble and the "Bahor" State Dance Ensemble, won the thunderous applause of the audience.
With this solemn program, the 90th concert season of the State Philharmonic of Uzbekistan was also officially opened.
