Test: Do you know the works of Osman Azim?
Usman Azim, the author of such poetry collections as "Understanding Man", "Bakhshiyona", "Grief", and "The Pain of Awakening", turned 76 on August 13. To mark the occasion, the Gazeta has prepared a test based on the work of the people's poet of Uzbekistan.
Test: Are you familiar with the work of Usman Azim?
Usman Azim was born on August 13, 1950 in the Boysun district of the Surkhandarya region. After graduating from school, he studied at the Faculty of Journalism of Tashkent State University, now known as the National University.
From 1976 to 1989, he worked at the Republican Radio, and from 1989 to 1990, he worked at the Tashkent regional branch of the Writers' Union, as well as in the presidential office. The poet's first book, "Understanding Man," was published in 1978, and since 2003, he has worked as a literary employee at the Uzbek National Academic Drama Theater.
The following year, the collection "State" was published, and from 1980 to 1989, the collections "Consequence", "Mirror", "Picture Fragments", "Lesson" and "Bakhshiyona" were published. In the 90s, the poetry books "Ghar'yib ajdarho", "Uyg'onish azobi", "Ghussa", "Uzun tun" and "Bor ekanda, yo'k ekan" were presented, and from 2003 to 2018, such works as "Magic", "Adibning umri", "Songsozlar" and "Collage" were presented.
He is the author of the radio plays "Let's Be Happy", "Story for a Documentary Film" and "Bahodir and the Princess", as well as the plays "One Step Forward", "Dayless Nights", "Market", "Alpomish's Return", "Jaze", "Baht Kushi" and "Ot'ghan zamon hangomari".
The creator, who wrote the scripts for the films “Alisher Navoiy”, “Alpomish”, “Sevgi”, translated the works of poets such as Paul Eluard and Fozil Husnu Dog'larja into Uzbek.
