Ten CVs - One Employer: SOS for Uzbekistan's Labor Market or a Business Boom?

The Senate Committee on Budget and Economic Reforms held a meeting of the Oliy Majlis, the upper house of parliament, on ensuring employment for graduates of higher education institutions and their involvement in entrepreneurship. This was reported by the information service of the upper house of parliament. The meeting discussed measures to ensure graduates have opportunities for decent employment and successful entry into the labor market, existing problems in this area, and ways to address them.

The Senate Committee on Budget and Economic Reforms of the Oliy Majlis held a meeting on the employment of university graduates and their involvement in entrepreneurship, according to the press service of the upper house of parliament.

The meeting discussed measures to provide graduates with adequate employment opportunities and successful entry into the labor market, as well as existing challenges in this area and ways to address them. Particular attention was paid to developing skills in young professionals that meet the demands of the modern labor market.

It was noted that the Senate adopted a resolution aimed at strengthening parliamentary oversight of university graduate employment, their employment, and their involvement in entrepreneurship.

In accordance with the resolution, a distribution plan was approved across educational fields, ministries and agencies, and regions. Furthermore, national, industry, and territorial working groups have been formed.

The Republican Working Group continuously monitors graduate employment online through the career.edu.uz platform. According to meeting participants, the platform's capabilities are being increasingly utilized.

During the meeting, information on ongoing work in this area was also presented. Specifically, more than 30,000 employers are currently registered on the platform, and graduates have created over 300,000 resumes.

The platform is also integrated with international job search services and the Osonish.uz system. Currently, it contains over 3,000 vacancies.

This is expected to enable employers to find specialists with the necessary knowledge and skills, and graduates to find suitable jobs based on their qualifications and professional competencies.
