Tashkent to host Central Asian Women's U-17 Football Championship

Tashkent will host the Central Asian U-17 Women's Football Championship

The Uzbekistan women's youth national team will begin defending their Central Asian champion title as early as September 15. The CAFA U-17 Women’s Championship tournament will be held in Tashkent and will conclude on September 19.

Competing for the trophy alongside the Uzbek team will be the national teams of Iran, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan. The U-17 national team will be led by Makhliyo Sarikova at the home tournament.

For the Uzbekistan national team, this tournament will be a chance to retain their championship title. Last year, the team won the CAFA U-17 Women’s Championship without a single defeat: the players defeated Iran and Tajikistan with a score of 1-0, and ended the match against Kyrgyzstan in a goalless draw. Based on the results of the three matches, the Uzbek team took first place.

Earlier, the Uzbekistan women's U-20 national team also became the winner of the CAFA tournament. In the decisive match, the team crushed Tajikistan with a score of 7-0 and completed the competition undefeated.
