Tashkent stock exchange turnover more than doubles to around $26mn

Tashkent's stock exchange experienced a significant surge in activity, with its turnover more than doubling to approximately $26 million.

During the week of July 20–24, the Republican Stock Exchange "Toshkent" (RSE "Toshkent") recorded a trading turnover of UZS 308.7 billion (around $26 million). This figure represents a 2.36-fold increase from the previous week, largely propelled by a substantial transaction involving InFinBank shares. The total number of transactions also saw an uptick, rising by 18.8% to reach 19,036.

Stocks were the primary driver of this growth, contributing UZS 306.5 billion (over $25.5 million), or 99% of the total turnover. This marks an extraordinary 105.7-fold increase compared to the prior week. A single transaction of UZS 300 billion (around $25 million) in InFinBank (TSE: INFB) shares was particularly impactful, accounting for roughly 97.8% of the week's stock turnover.

Conversely, bond trading amounted to UZS 2.2 billion (over $180,000), making up the remaining 1% of overall turnover. This segment saw a 98% decline week-on-week. MAKESENSE (TSE: UZUMN2B2), with a 24% coupon rate, led bond trading with UZS 1.16 billion (over $96,000) across two transactions, capturing 52% of the bond market volume. AGAT CREDIT (TSE: ACMT2B5) followed with UZS 655.7 million (over $54,000) from 48 transactions, while AGAT CREDIT (TSE: ACMT1B3) registered UZS 215.3 million (around $18,000).

The Main Board reported UZS 8.7 billion (around $725,000) in turnover from 19,035 transactions. Meanwhile, the NC Board generated UZS 300 billion (around $25 million) through a single transaction of InFinBank ordinary shares, representing approximately 97% of the exchange's total weekly trading volume.

On the Main Board stock market, turnover reached UZS 6.45 billion (over $537,000) across 18,759 transactions. UZNIF (TSE: UZNF) was the top performer, with UZS 3.07 billion (around $256,000) in turnover, accounting for 47% of the market, despite a 1.45% decline in its share price during the week. O'zbektelekom (TSE: UZTL) secured the second spot with UZS 1.29 billion (over $107,000) in turnover, and O'zsanoatqurilishbank (TSE: SQBN) came in third with UZS 639.3 million (over $53,000). These three companies collectively contributed about 76% of the Main Board's stock turnover.

Other actively traded stocks included Hamkorbank (TSE: HMKB), O'zRTXB (TSE: URTS), O'ztemiryo'lkonteyner (TSE: UTYK), and Chilonzor buyum savdo kompleksi (TSE: CBSK). Notably, O'ztemiryo'lkonteyner made its debut in the exchange's top 10 most-traded stocks. Universal Bank (TSE: UNVB) experienced the most significant weekly price drop, falling 54.45% to UZS 8,344.

The AVEX Index concluded the week at 4,111.7 points, marking a 0.17% increase week-on-week. Since the beginning of 2026, the benchmark has risen by 77.24%, and it is up 112.59% compared to a year ago.

The AWACRI bond yield indicator remained stable at 20.17%, as no new bond issuances occurred during the reporting period.
