Tashkent leads Uzbekistan in food production output
Large enterprises in Uzbekistan produced 75.2 trillion soums of food products in January-June 2026, up 12% from a year earlier.

Tashkent has emerged as Uzbekistan's top performer in food production, according to data released by the National Statistics Committee.
From January to June 2026, large enterprises across Uzbekistan collectively manufactured food products valued at 75.2 trillion soums, representing a 12% rise compared to the corresponding period in 2025.
The capital city, Tashkent, spearheaded this output, with its major food producers generating 13.9 trillion soums worth of products in the first half of the year. Following Tashkent, the Tashkent region secured the second position with 10.7 trillion soums, while the Samarkand region ranked third, contributing 10.1 trillion soums.
Andijan and Ferghana regions reported identical production figures, each reaching 5.6 trillion soums. They were succeeded by Bukhara region at 4.7 trillion soums, Kashkadarya region at 4.6 trillion soums, and Namangan region at 4.5 trillion soums.
The Republic of Karakalpakstan and Navoi region each saw large enterprises produce 3.2 trillion soums in food products. Khorezm region's output stood at 2.4 trillion soums.
Syrdarya and Surkhandarya regions each recorded 2.3 trillion soums in production. Jizzakh region registered the lowest production volume among the listed regions, at 2.1 trillion soums.
In summary, Tashkent, the Tashkent region, and the Samarkand region collectively led Uzbekistan's large enterprises in food production volume during the January-June 2026 period.
