Tanzila Narbaeva discussed cooperation with the Ambassador of Kazakhstan

Tanzila Narbayeva held talks with the Kazakh Ambassador on cooperation.

Speaker of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva met with Yerali Tugzhanov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, the parties discussed strengthening bilateral ties, including interparliamentary cooperation, as well as political, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian aspects.

It was emphasized that the good-neighborly and fraternal relations between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan continue to develop thanks to the friendly ties between the leaders of the two countries.

Particular attention was paid to developing interparliamentary cooperation. The parties noted the importance of further exchanging experience in lawmaking and parliamentary oversight, as well as in working with territorial Kengashes (Councils), implementing the Sustainable Development Goals, combating corruption, and ensuring gender equality. Tanzila Narbayeva and Yerali Tugzhanov also exchanged views on the constitutional reform being implemented in Kazakhstan and the country's new parliamentary model.

During the meeting, it was noted that the new Constitution of Kazakhstan entered into force on July 1, 2026.

According to the materials presented, the country's parliament will function as a unicameral Kurultai, with the first elections scheduled for August 23.
