Strong M-class flares are expected on the Sun

On the Sun, strong M-class flares, which rank second to last on the scale of explosion power on the star, are forecast for September 3 and 4, 2026.

As reported by specialists from the Russian Institute of Applied Geophysics, according to the space weather forecast, solar flare activity during this period will generally be low, but the probability of individual M-class flares remains.

The geomagnetic field is forecast to remain quiet, although individual periods of instability cannot be ruled out.

The radiation situation in the coming days is expected to be undisturbed.

At the same time, experts warn of a possible deterioration in shortwave radio communication conditions during certain hours of the day.
