SSV, ADFD and UNOPS sign agreement to build 300-bed multidisciplinary hospital in Beshkent
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD), and UNOPS have signed an agreement to build and develop a 300-bed multi-specialty hospital in Beshkent. The nearly $127.1 million initiative will also include developing healthcare infrastructure and expanding telemedicine services in Kashkadarya.

The Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan (MoH), the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) and the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) have reached an agreement to build a new 300-bed multidisciplinary hospital in the city of Beshkent, Kashkadarya region. UNOPS informed Gazeta about this.
This agreement, signed on August 7, 2026, is the second part of a project aimed at improving medical services in the Kashkadarya region. This direction is financed by the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development.
This project is being implemented within the framework of the Government of Uzbekistan's healthcare modernization program. It provides for the construction of new multidisciplinary hospitals in the cities of Karshi and Beshkent and their provision with modern medical equipment, in accordance with the presidential decree adopted in February 2024.
**Beshkent Hospital Design**
The new hospital to be built in Beshkent will replace the existing infrastructure. The current buildings do not fully meet construction requirements, seismic stability, and modern medical care standards. The new facility will provide obstetrics, pediatrics, surgery, infectious diseases, pathology, and outpatient medical care services.
Two more components of the project were signed in November 2025, which include the development of healthcare infrastructure in the city of Karshi and other regions of the region, as well as the introduction of telemedicine services throughout Kashkadarya. These areas are being implemented with funds from the Islamic Development Bank.
**Karshi City Hospital Design**
According to information, the total cost of the project is about 127.1 million US dollars. Of this, 84.6 million dollars will be financed by the Islamic Development Bank, and 42.5 million dollars will be financed by the Abu Dhabi Development Fund.
UNOPS has developed feasibility studies, architectural and engineering designs for the Karshi and Beshkent hospitals. The main goal of the project is to expand access to quality medical services for the population of the Kashkadarya region.
