President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, together with the heads of delegations of the CIS countries, visited the Festival of National Dishes in the "Avaza" national tourist zone in Turkmenistan.
The festival presented the culinary traditions of nine countries — Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan.
At the Uzbek stand, the guests got acquainted with regional types of pastries, sweets, dried fruits, and bread-making traditions. Chefs demonstrated the preparation of somsa, Khorezm dishes — shivit oshi and tukhum barak, and also presented Uzbek plov and other dishes of the national cuisine.
A separate exposition was dedicated to folk crafts. Craftsmen from Rishtan, Bukhara, Margilan, and Samarkand showed their products and traditional techniques.
The festive program was complemented by performances of national music artists. After viewing the Uzbek stand, the heads of delegations familiarized themselves with the expositions of other countries.
