Scientists from Uzbekistan will participate in an international biodiversity workshop in Tajikistan.
From August 16 to 22, Tajikistan will host an International Biodiversity Workshop, bringing together specialists from Uzbekistan and other countries in the region. Ecologists, botanists, physiologists, and soil scientists from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan will gather at the Varzob Mountain Botanical Station "Kondara."

An international workshop on biodiversity will be held in Tajikistan from August 16 to 22. Experts from Uzbekistan and other countries in the region will participate. Ecologists, botanists, physiologists, and soil scientists from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan will gather at the Varzob Mountain Botanical Station "Kondara," according to the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly's Telegram channel.
The participation of Uzbek specialists in this international workshop will provide them with the opportunity to exchange scientific experience and practical knowledge in the study, conservation, and sustainable use of biological diversity in mountain ecosystems.
Representatives from Uzbekistan, together with colleagues from other countries, will discuss pressing issues of natural resource conservation and the development of scientific cooperation.
The practical part of the seminar will be held in the Kondara Gorge, one of the richest natural resource areas in Central Asia, located in the Varzob River basin. Approximately 1,550 plant species grow here, 20 of which are strictly endemic.
Participants will have the opportunity to directly study the characteristics of the local flora and mountain ecosystems.
For Uzbekistan, participation in such international scientific and practical events is particularly important, given the rich biodiversity of the country's mountainous regions.
Exchanging experience with scientists from Central Asian countries promotes the development of regional cooperation in environmental conservation, flora studies, and the rational use of natural resources.
The international seminar is traditionally organized by the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan with the support of the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS Member States (IFHC).
