Spanish Real Sociedad midfielder Arsen Zakharyan is expected to miss the Russian national team's friendly matches in November due to an injury.
Earlier, Zakharyan was included in the Russian national team's extended squad. However, head coach Valery Karpin stated that the player had suffered an ankle injury. In addition, Real Sociedad did not include him in the squad for the Europa League match against Lyon.
“Arsen had twisted his ankle, but now he has started training with the main group. He was left out of the squad because he had missed a bit of time before that, and you need to be ready to play in the Europa League. As for the national team, judging by what Karpin said, he probably won't go this time. For some reason, he is having no luck when it comes to the national team. But I think he will be able to play in the Spanish championship,” Golubin said.
For reference, Arsen Zakharyan has made a total of 7 appearances and scored 2 goals for Real Sociedad this season.
As a reminder, the Russian national team will play against Uzbekistan in Tashkent on November 12, and will face the Venezuela national team in Krasnodar on November 17.
