Rosatom may launch pilot medical project in Fergana region

Rosatom is considering the initiation of a trial medical program within Uzbekistan's Fergana region. This possibility was a central topic on August 19, when Fergana regional governor Khayrullo Bozorov met with a delegation headed by Alexey Dremuchev, the director general of Rosatom Central Asia.

Discussions between the parties encompassed broadening collaborative efforts, executing investment ventures, and establishing local manufacturing capabilities. Dremuchev outlined Rosatom's primary operational domains, which include nuclear energy, mechanical engineering, nuclear medicine, digital innovations, and the production of advanced materials.

A significant point of discussion was the prospective launch of a pilot healthcare initiative. Additionally, the participants explored collaborative projects in the fuel and energy sector, energy storage solutions, the creation of composite materials, workforce development, and transportation and logistics.

Subsequent to the meeting, an agreement was reached to formulate a roadmap detailing key areas for cooperation and joint projects, complete with concrete implementation steps. Bozorov affirmed the regional administration's commitment to backing mutually advantageous endeavors and collaborative projects.

On August 20, Rosatom delegates visited the Central Asian Medical University in Fergana. There, they assessed the training programs for medical professionals and deliberated on future cooperative prospects.
