Relocating Rare Mosaics in the Yunusabad District to a Safe Location

Uzbekistan, Tashkent – Podrobno.uz.

The exterior walls of the former tuberculosis dispensary, built in 1972 in the Yunusabad district of Tashkent, are adorned with unique mosaic compositions.

According to the Agency for Cultural Heritage, these mosaics, located at 6, 3rd Drive, Niyozbek Yuli Street, are potential candidates for inclusion in the National List of Immovable Tangible Cultural Heritage Sites.

In connection with the upcoming demolition of the building, measures were taken to carefully remove the mosaics and relocate them to another location. This decision is intended to ensure the safety of these unique examples of monumental art, preserve their historical value, and pass them on to future generations.

These mosaics are particularly significant as examples of monumental art from the second half of the 20th century due to their artistic execution, harmonious color combinations, and thematic content. They offer unique interpretations of ideas about humanity, nature, labor, creation, science, and the world. The images, created using multicolored smalt and other elements, reflect the aesthetic concepts of their era and the traditions of monumental art.
