Pension tops £16,000 a year after 4.7% increase
The full pension rises by £734 a year, or about £14 a week, the Government of Jersey says.

Pension rises above £16,000 a year after 4.7% uplift
The 4.7% rise will lift the total pension amount to £16,294 annually
Jersey pensioners are set to get an extra £734 a year in their old age pension as a top-up takes effect.
The Government of Jersey said the 4.7% increase, worth an additional £14 a week for someone receiving a full pension, would raise the overall amount to £16,294 a year.
The pension is adjusted every October by at least the recorded rise in the pensioner retail price index for June.
Minister for Social Security Senator Elaine Millar said extra support, including cold weather payments and free TV licences, would be available for people on low incomes.
Deputy Millar said: "Our pensioners have contributed to Jersey throughout their working lives and it is important that the old age pension continues to provide a strong foundation for old age.
"We also recognise that pensioners on lower incomes can face particular pressure from healthcare and heating costs, which is why additional support is available through Pension Plus, the Health Access Scheme and the Cold Weather Bonus."
Millar said she encouraged anyone who thought they might qualify for extra help to "check what support is available to them".
The social security minister said last month that introducing mandatory workplace pensions alongside the government pension was a priority for her.
