Thirty-six businesses in Northern Ireland, among them a care provider, hotels and solicitors, have been named by the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) for failing to pay staff the minimum wage.
Across the UK, more than 600 employers were told to repay workers the wages they were owed, with £4m returned to workers.
Those firms were also handed penalties totalling £7m.
Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds said the government was determined to stamp out the practice of "short-changing your staff".
"The best businesses know that looking after your workers isn't just the right thing to do, it's the smart thing to do," he said.
In April 2026, the hourly rate for over-21s rose by 50p to £12.71, while workers aged 18-20 saw an 85p increase to £10.85.
Sixteen and 17-year-olds and apprentices saw their minimum wage increase by 6%.
