On October 12, in the 2nd round of the AFC Champions League Elite, Uzbekistan champions "Neftchi" played against Saudi Arabia's "Al Nassr" in Riyadh.

In the first half of the match, the hosts scored twice to bring the score to a comfortable state. In particular, Cristiano Ronaldo recorded the 981st goal of his career.

At the beginning of the second half, substitute Alisher Odilov took advantage of a gross mistake by the opponent's defense to reduce the deficit and brought intrigue back to the contest. However, shortly after, Fergana midfielder Ikrom Alibaev received a red card for a rough foul in the center of the pitch, leaving his team in a difficult situation.

In the remaining minutes, the guests had no chance to equalize the score, while the hosts increased the lead again thanks to an own goal by Ghafurov — 3:1.

Thus, after two rounds, "Neftchi" stands in 7th place in the overall standings with 3 points (in the first round, Iraq's "Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya" club was defeated 1:0).

Meanwhile, "Al Nassr", which lost heavily (0:4) to UAE's "Al Ain" club in the first round, moved into 8th place thanks to its first points.
