National rail operator turns to mobile ticketing to boost suburban travel
A dedicated mobile app for purchasing suburban train tickets has been developed in Uzbekistan, the press service of Uztemiryolyolovchi, the government body in charge of passenger rail services, said.
The operator said the app is intended to make ticket buying easier and faster for passengers.
Through the app, users can choose a route, view train timetables and purchase tickets online.
It was previously reported that the Tashkent–Nukus high-speed train service is scheduled to start operating in March next year.
