MrBeast departed Uzbekistan on Sunday, ending his first trip to Central Asia early after a surge of people at Samarkand’s Registan Square prompted security teams to evacuate him the previous day.

According to accounts of the trip, thousands of fans, many of them underage, gathered in the square on Saturday after news of his presence spread on Telegram. The crowd broke through perimeter barriers as people pressed toward the YouTube creator and a red Lamborghini. Security teams and local police then formed a human shield around him to pull him out of the crush, and he was rushed to the airport, with fans reportedly chasing his vehicle along the highway.

He later posted an Instagram story saying, “Feeling the love while filming in Uzbekistan.”

Earlier reports had said he would also visit Bukhara and Khiva, but he left ahead of schedule because of safety concerns over the crowds. The Art and Culture Development Foundation of Uzbekistan (ACDF) said his production crew remained behind and would continue on to Bukhara and Khiva to film architectural and cultural footage for the upcoming YouTube video.

Events in Tashkent on Friday were more tightly managed. MrBeast arrived at Tashkent International Airport, where fans welcomed him, and a fan zone was set up near the Center for Contemporary Art. Streets around Amir Temur Square were shut due to heavy traffic. At an interactive game and quiz session, attended by 200 winners over 18 chosen by computer draw, he reportedly gave 100 million soums to each of three participants, 300 million in total, or about $23,500.
