More than 806,000 6-year-old children will be enrolled in school preparatory groups in the new academic year
In the 2026/2027 academic year, the coverage rate of 6-year-old children in school preparatory groups in Uzbekistan will reach 99.3 percent

In the new academic year, more than 806 thousand 6-year-old children will be involved in preparatory groups for school.
The order of the Ministry of Preschool and School Education on the effective organization of the process of preparing preschool educational organizations and accepting children for the 2026/2027 academic year was published in the e-decision system. The annexes to the document were approved by order of the Minister of Preschool and School Education No. 299 dated August 18, 2026.
According to this document, a total of 811 thousand 586 6-year-old children were registered in the republic in the 2026/2027 academic year. Of these, 806 thousand 290 are planned to be included in preparatory groups for school, which provides for an increase in the coverage level to 99.3%.
485 free one-year compulsory preparatory groups will be organized for 6-year-old children not covered by school preparatory groups. It is planned to attract a total of 13,104 children to these groups.
Of these:
— 413 groups will be organized in general secondary schools, covering 11,163 children;
— 65 groups will be opened in state preschool educational organizations, covering 1,766 children;
— 7 groups will be organized in other suitable buildings, covering 175 children.
In accordance with the action plan, 6-year-old children in the regions will first be registered. As a result of the registration, children not covered by the preparation will be placed in available vacant groups and places.
After that, new training groups will be created for children who remain outside the scope in empty rooms of general education schools, state preschool educational organizations, "Future Centers" and other facilities. They are scheduled to be launched in September-October.
