More than 380 tourists are missing in floods in Nepal.
At least 55 people have died and another 384 tourists are missing as a result of flooding on the Nepal-Tibet border.

The Nepal Tourism Board reported that 384 tourists are missing after flash flooding on the Bhote Koshi River, located on the border between Nepal and Tibet. Among them, 291 are foreign nationals and 93 are Nepalese citizens.
According to Reuters, citing local media, at least 55 people have died in the flooding. Nepalese and Tibetan authorities fear a significantly higher death toll and widespread destruction.
Among the missing foreigners, the largest number are Indian citizens – 105 – along with 37 people of Indian origin who do not hold Indian citizenship. The list also includes citizens of Australia, the Netherlands, the United States, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, and South Africa. The nationalities of the remaining missing tourists are being investigated.
The flooding is believed to have been caused by an earthquake in the region, which triggered a landslide. Verified video footage from the scene, according to Reuters, shows a torrent of water and mud swept away buildings, including homes, and swept away dozens of people.
China has dispatched at least 574 rescuers to the Gyirong land crossing in Tibet. Chinese President Xi Jinping called for all efforts to search and rescue the missing.
Nepal Prime Minister Balendra Shah said police and military forces would join the rescue operation.
