Mirziyoyev and Lukashenko discussed the development of relations
The presidents of Uzbekistan and Belarus discussed strengthening their strategic partnership, increasing trade, and implementing joint industrial projects.
On August 30, the Presidents of Uzbekistan and Belarus, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Alexander Lukashenko, held a telephone conversation to discuss further strengthening their bilateral strategic partnership, according to the press service of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated Alexander Lukashenko on his birthday, wishing him good health, well-being, and success, and peace and prosperity to the people of Belarus.
In response, the Belarusian leader congratulated Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the multinational people of Uzbekistan on the upcoming Independence Day, expressing his wishes for sustainable development and prosperity for the country.
During the telephone conversation, the parties discussed ways to further deepen Uzbek-Belarusian ties, taking into account the agreements reached during the official visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Minsk on July 8–9, 2026.
The leaders noted with satisfaction the intensification of bilateral contacts and exchanges, particularly at the regional level in both countries.
By the beginning of 2026, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Belarus had grown by 28%. Industrial and production cooperation projects are also being implemented in agriculture, mechanical engineering, pharmaceuticals, electrical engineering, light industry, and other sectors.
The two heads of state also discussed the schedule of upcoming bilateral meetings and events.
