The Board meeting, chaired by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Lieutenant General Aziz Tashpulatov, discussed the criminal situation in the Republic in the first six months of 2026, in particular, serious and especially serious crimes.
This year, a total of 125,387 political, cultural, sports and other mass events were held, ensuring the safety of more than 70 million citizens. During the reporting period, crimes were prevented in 5,778 neighborhoods (64 percent).
At the same time, it was strongly criticized that 476 neighborhoods remained in the "red" category.
5,010 wanted persons who were hiding from judicial and investigative bodies were arrested and their further criminal activities were stopped. 2,616 people who had left their homes and gone missing were found in a short time, dangerous situations were prevented, and they were returned to their families.
Over the past six months, 6 heads of city and district internal affairs bodies, 2 deputies for ensuring public safety, and 2 heads of regional internal affairs departments were dismissed for serious shortcomings in stabilizing the criminal situation in the republic. Also, 7 leaders were subjected to severe disciplinary punishment, and a decision was made by the Board to consider whether or not to retain 3 leaders in their positions.
According to the results of the rating, proposals were made to encourage the heads of the internal affairs departments of Tashkent region (first place), Samarkand region (second place) and Fergana region (third place), who prevented the commission of preventable crimes and showed initiative in detecting crimes and achieved the best results. It was also proposed to encourage the heads of the internal affairs departments of Karmana of Navoi region, Zharkurgan of Surkhandarya region, Kuva of Fergana region, Yunusobod of Tashkent city, Namangan of Namangan region, Jondor of Bukhara region, Piskent of Tashkent region and Yangiabad districts of Jizzakh region.
