Met investigating British man's death in Caribbean
Authorities in Grenada originally declared Andrew Donald Frederick's death as accidental.
Metropolitan Police are investigating the death of a British man in the Caribbean after a private post-mortem examination determined it was a homicide.
The inquest into the death of Andrew Donald Frederick, 47, at West London Coroner's Court has been suspended. Frederick died on January 4, 2026.
Grenadian authorities had initially classified Frederick's death as accidental before his body was repatriated to the UK. Senior coroner Lydia Brown stated that the Metropolitan Police are now probing the death, and the inquest proceedings are on hold pending the investigation's results.
Frederick's family participated in Tuesday's West London Coroner's Court session remotely via video link. Diplomatic discussions with Grenadian authorities are reportedly underway.
The Met has been asked for comment.
