One of the club's owners, David Beckham, specially congratulated the Argentine footballer on his 100th goal, acknowledging his place in the team's history. The English football legend once again stated that he is a fan of Messi and believes he deserves to win the "Ballon d'Or" again. Leo has been included in the final list of nominees for the 2026 award — this will be the 17th nomination of his career.
