Man dies in Cavan crash involving car and van
A woman who was a passenger in the car was airlifted to hospital for serious injuries.
A man in his 60s has passed away after a collision between a car and a van in County Cavan.
The incident occurred on Monday afternoon on the N3 at Drummallaght, situated between Virginia and Cavan town. The deceased was identified as the driver of the car, according to a report from Irish broadcaster RTÉ.
A female passenger in the car, also in her 60s, sustained serious injuries and was transported to the hospital by air ambulance. The driver of the van, a man in his 50s, received hospital treatment for minor injuries.
Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the crash or motorists who may have video footage from the area between 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM local time to come forward.
