"Manchester City" has been found guilty of breaching the English Premier League's (EPL) financial rules.

According to sources who spoke to the publication on condition of anonymity (as they were not authorized to make public statements), the club was found guilty of 114 out of 115 charges.

It is noted that the penalties have not yet been determined — all options are being considered, and "Manchester City" is expected to appeal.

"The process is ongoing, key stages must be completed, and the progress of the case remains strictly confidential. In this regard, Manchester City's position remains unchanged and is consistent with the club's statement in February 2023. For eight years, the club has conscientiously complied with the established procedures, trusting that the EPL leadership and executive bodies would act as an independent, impartial, and fair regulator, free from biased influence," said a "Manchester City" representative.

At the beginning of 2023, following an investigation that began in 2018, the EPL announced that it had identified over a hundred breaches after the club was acquired by City Football Group in 2008. The league's claims relate to the provision of inaccurate financial information, refusal to cooperate with the investigation, failure to fully disclose manager salaries during Roberto Mancini's tenure from 2009 to 2013, and non-compliance with fair play rules and financial sustainability from 2013 to 2018. "Manchester City" has denied all allegations.

In August 2024, the New York Times wrote that "Manchester City" could face a deduction of 70–80 points, which would guarantee relegation from the Premier League.
