Liverpool close to making most expensive transfer in club history - Romano

Liverpool are on the verge of making the most expensive transfer in their history, according to renowned insider Fabricio Romano. The English club is close to signing France international and Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Bradley Barcoglia. The negotiations are being held between the two clubs and the transfer is expected to be officially announced within the next 24 hours.

PSG initially demanded 170 million euros for the 23-year-old, but later lowered the amount to 146 million euros. If Liverpool agrees to this price, Barcoglia will become the most expensive purchase in the club's history. The current record holder is Swedish striker Alexander Isak, who was bought from Newcastle at the beginning of last season for 145 million euros.

Barcoglia joined PSG from Lyon in 2023 for 45 million euros. He has made 152 appearances for the Paris club, scoring 39 goals and providing 37 assists.

Barcolla also represented France at the 2026 World Cup in the summer. He made 8 appearances during the tournament, scoring 3 goals and providing one assist. According to Transfermarkt, the 23-year-old is currently valued at €90 million.
