"Larger Than Life": Zurab Tsereteli's Works to Be Presented in Tashkent

This October, the Gallery of Fine Arts of Uzbekistan will open its doors to an exhibition dedicated to the legacy of the outstanding Georgian and Russian monumental sculptor Zurab Tsereteli. Visitors will be able to explore the diversity of his works, executed in various techniques, and also participate in educational events such as lectures and master classes.

The exhibition, entitled "Larger Than Life," will be held in Tashkent from October 1 to December 1, 2026. This project, supported by the Russian Academy of Arts, aims to showcase the various stages of the artist's creative journey.

The exhibition will include paintings, sculptures, three-dimensional enamels, reliefs, and silkscreen prints. Such a diversity of works will allow visitors to fully appreciate the breadth and diversity of Tsereteli's artistic legacy.

In addition to the main exhibition, a special educational program has been developed for visitors. It includes lectures and master classes dedicated to the artist's art and creativity.

Tsereteli is known as the creator of numerous large-scale monumental projects, completed both in Russia and abroad. Among the most recognizable are the monument to Peter the Great, erected on an artificial island in the Moskva River near the Kremlin, and the "Friendship Forever" monument, located on Tishinskaya Square in Moscow.

The artist died in April of last year at the age of 91.
