Kyrgyzstan returns 23 tons of vegetables imported from Uzbekistan

Kyrgyzstan has returned 28 tons of vegetables imported from Uzbekistan. This was reported by the "24.kg" publication, citing the Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan.

The products were returned from the "Kyzyl-Kiya - Autoyul" phytosanitary checkpoint. The cargo included 23 tons of onions and 5 tons of carrots. During the inspection, experts found that the product packaging did not have mandatory labeling.

Importing quarantined products without labeling is a violation of the unified phytosanitary requirements of the Eurasian Economic Union. Therefore, this cargo was returned to the country of import.

This is not the first case of a neighboring country returning goods. Kyrgyzstan returned 650 kilograms of sausages in June due to the lack of labeling, and 21 tons of watermelons in May. In January, nearly 27 tons of onions were also shipped to Uzbekistan without phytosanitary certificates and markings. Similar cases were also observed in 2025 with shipments of pistachios and melons.
