Kyrgyzstan plans to ban children from using social media
According to the Minister of Education, children are on social networks without any control.
In Kyrgyzstan, children may be banned from using social networks. This was announced by the country's Minister of Education, Dogdurkul Kendirbayeva.
"We are considering this issue. We have experience. For example, we banned the use of phones during lessons," she said.
According to the minister, there are also cases of banning minors from using social networks in other countries.
Kendirbayeva believes this is especially important for primary school students who spend only three hours at school and the rest of their time at home.
"Children are on social networks without any control. We do not know what kind of information they are receiving," the minister said.
Earlier, the Minister of Preschool and School Education of Uzbekistan, E'zozxon Karimova, stated that a draft law aimed at restricting the use of social networks for children under 16 years of age could be developed.
