**Kazakhstan Tops EAEU by Value of Announced Investment Projects**

Kazakhstan has ranked first among Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states by the value of announced new investment projects.

The conclusion was presented by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in a special report on investment in the EAEU region for 2026. The report, published on 25 October, was unveiled at the World Investment Forum in Doha, Qatar.

It reviews major trends in international investment flows, changes in investment policy and the outlook for attracting foreign capital to EAEU member states.

UNCTAD said the total value of announced new greenfield investment projects across the EAEU increased by 12% in 2025 to US$25.9 billion.

Kazakhstan made up about US$24 billion of that amount, up 34% from 2024. This accounted for roughly 93% of the total value of new projects in the union. The report’s authors said this showed a strong concentration of announced investment in the Kazakh economy.

The report also points to Kazakhstan’s steady efforts to improve its investment climate, including streamlining administrative procedures and digitising public services for investors. The launch of a one-stop-shop mechanism and the creation of a digital investment platform were given positive assessments.

Special focus is placed on the potential to attract international capital into industry, energy, infrastructure and high-tech sectors.

According to UNCTAD, these sectors can support economic diversification, the development of higher value-added production and the expansion of the country’s non-resource export potential.

At the same time, the report’s authors stress that announced projects reflect investor intentions only, while their realisation depends on financing availability, infrastructure quality and the effectiveness of support for investment initiatives.

Kazakhstan’s continued work in this field is aimed at carrying out major industrial and infrastructure projects, introducing modern technologies, creating jobs and ensuring sustainable economic growth.
