The nephew and great-grandson of former US President John F. Kennedy has been arrested in absentia in Russia for serving in the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The Basmanny District Court of Moscow has ruled to arrest in absentia American Connor Kennedy, the nephew of the 35th President of the United States, John F. Kennedy. This was reported by the TASS agency.
Kennedy is currently on the international wanted list. His lawyers tried to overturn the arrest warrant, but the Moscow City Court rejected their appeal and upheld the lower court's decision. The appeal hearing was held in camera.
Connor Kennedy is accused of being a mercenary, a crime punishable by seven to ten years in prison. Earlier, the representative of this famous political dynasty himself admitted that in 2022 he secretly fought on the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces as part of the "International Legion" in the Kharkiv region.
John Fitzgerald Kennedy (1917–1963) was an American statesman and the 35th President of the United States (1961–1963). He was a member of the Democratic Party. He was one of the key leaders of the Cold War era, leading the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was assassinated in Dallas on November 22, 1963.
