Jersey earnings rise by 1.2% after inflation

Statistics Jersey says the increase is "slightly lower" than the long-term annual average.

Jersey's average earnings saw a 1.2% increase in real terms over the year ending in June, as reported by Statistics Jersey.

According to the latest data, the earnings per full-time equivalent employee in Jersey were 4.1% higher in June 2026 compared to June 2025. However, once inflation was factored in, the real-terms growth in earnings stood at 1.2%.

Statistics Jersey also noted that over a 12-year period, average real-term earnings grew by 0.9% in the private sector and by 2.9% in the public sector.

Conversely, looking at a 25-year span, average real-term earnings in the public sector experienced a 3% decline, while the private sector saw a 1.2% increase.

The findings in the report were derived from earnings data gathered through a comprehensive survey of employers and all departments within the Government of Jersey. Statistics Jersey highlighted that this was the fourth consecutive year that participation in the survey was mandatory for employers.
