"Since childhood, we wanted not to be a burden to our parents"

— We started working from a very young age. That is, we worked and earned money during our school years. There were factories that produced materials for boxes used when exporting fruit abroad. I worked in such factories. Our family was not that poor. Even so, we were children who did not want to be a burden to our parents, he says.

"I went to Russia at the age of 18"

— I studied at school No. 18 in our neighborhood. After finishing the ninth grade, I entered college. But instead of studying at college, I went to work in Russia. We were forced to leave due to circumstances. I worked in Russia for 3 years, meaning I left at 18 and returned at 21. There, my brothers and I worked at a car wash and on construction sites. The hardship in our country is not hardship; all hardships are in foreign lands. In Russia, my brothers and I had many difficult days during cold weather. We worked in Moscow. The main reason we went to Russia was because we had no trade in our hands here, says Jaloliddin Ahmadaliyev.

"I worked as a shoemaker in Gijduvon and as a plumber in Fergana"

— After coming to Uzbekistan, we worked at a car wash again in Kokand. Then I became an apprentice to my shoemaker friend and did shoemaking. In Bukhara, in Gijduvon, we made shoes in the house of a private entrepreneur. We worked on Babur Street in Gijduvon for a long time. In shoemaking, we worked with glue: its smell was very bad, very, very bad. The smell of glue troubled my stomach. When I went out for lunch, I forced myself to eat so that food would enter my stomach and I wouldn't collapse. Because the smell of glue ruins the appetite. After my stomach kept hurting, I decided to become a plumber. I became an apprentice to an older brother in our neighborhood and learned this profession too. I also worked as a plumber in Charvak, Tashkent. I was engaged in this profession until about six months ago. No matter where I worked, I went around with the thought of singing, setting poems to music, says the singer.

"My uncle was also an artist"

— There was an artist in our family before as well. My father's brother, my uncle Ravshanjon Gofurov, was a singer in our Fergana in the 80s and 90s. He performed at weddings, singing songs of our late master Sherali Jo‘rayev, as well as his own.

"They took advantage of my youth"

— I bought the first song I recorded in a studio a long time ago for 50 dollars. The song was called "Xumor ko‘zlaring". After buying the song, I found its real owner. It turned out that the author of that song was another person, and taking advantage of my youth, they had sold this song to me too. I did not release that song, says Jaloliddin Ahmadaliyev.

"I always remember the days before I became famous"

— I often remember my days before achieving fame. I have even kept my working tools from that time in my house until now. And the shoes I sewed for my father when I was shoemaking, I still carry with me in my car. The purpose of this is never to forget the past days, he says.

"Turks and Iranians wanted to buy my songs"

— After the song "Yor bizdan ketdi" became famous, buyers for this song emerged from Turkey, Azerbaijan, Iran, Tajikistan, and Kazakhstan. They also wanted to buy our song "Eh, jo‘ralar". At that time, we had not yet shot a music video for these songs, so we said, "We will allow you to sing them after the video." If we had sold our songs to them at that time, everyone would think I stole them from them, says the singer.

About his first wedding, his first fee

— Our first wedding was in our place, in Kokand. At that time, I didn't have a guitar that could connect to an amplifier; it was a simple guitar. I made that guitar homemade so that a microphone could be connected. But when I took it to the wedding, the guitar could not be connected to the amplifier. That was the first time I played an electric guitar, getting lost in the notes, and managed to sing somehow. The first money I received was 300 thousand soums. That money also came from tips. I thought, so you can make good money from weddings. Our next wedding was in Margilan. There, too, I played the guitar and sang myself. After that, our weddings multiplied. There are times when we go to seven wedding appearances in one day, says the artist.

"There are many who put an axe to your feet"

— Already now, my strength is not enough for some obstacles. I am a rising artist. Whatever happened, Allah gave me strength, and I am striving with that. It turns out there are many who put an axe to your feet. I am seeing such situations in my life only now. Until now, I had not seen such people. There were times when I wanted to return to my time as a plumber. There are many people taking advantage of me. Knowing this, I turned a blind eye to many things. There were times when my humility and simplicity worked against me. When I worked as a plumber, we were forced to dig trenches deeper than our height. At those times, I envied artists, thinking singers walk around clean and neat, and they have it easy. I don't want to be ungrateful, but the responsibility of being a singer is heavy. At that time when I was struggling as a plumber, even though I traveled by bus, I could find time for my family. Now I have my own car, but I cannot find time for my family, for my parents, he says.

Who does the singer consider his competitors?

Jaloliddin Ahmadaliyev told with which singers he started his career in the same period and was in competition:

— We became famous in the same period with singers Muhammad Ziyo, Doston Ergashev, and Hamdam Sobirov. The four of us were competitors to each other not in terms of song direction or voice, but in making trends. Lately, that is, for a year and a half, we all have the effort, but maybe the enthusiasm is gone, we have become quiet. But before, we used to monitor how many views each other's songs got and tried to surpass each other, he says.

"I refused sponsors who promised a house and a car, because..."

— More than ten people came forward with the intention of becoming sponsors. From the beginning, I had no intention of working with a sponsor. Then my father also said, "My son, leave it, it's not necessary, you won't be able to go wherever you want, whenever you want. You will have to go to your relative's wedding only if they allow it." My brother spoke with one sponsor. My brother asked them, "If we work with you, what can you do for us?" He said, "I will have his songs recorded in the studio," and my brother said, "We are doing this ourselves too." He said, "I will have his music videos shot," and they said, "We are doing this ourselves too." He said, "I will buy a house," and my brother said, "We have a house too." In short, we refused to work with a sponsor, let them not be offended, we preferred to make our way through struggles ourselves, says the artist.

"If I lip-sync, my father scolds me"

— In some places, they say you can just come, move your mouth, and show up. Now, are we going to take money just for showing up at a wedding? I think we must work and earn our money honestly. I don't mean to say that the money of those who lip-sync is haram, they also work, record songs, and advertise them. But I chose the path of live singing. Besides, if I lip-sync, my father scolds me. He says, "Even if you lose your throat, sing live."

"The pain in my songs makes me cry too"

— Although not all, when I read the lyrics of three of my songs, tears came to my eyes. The rest also deeply affect a person. If the song lyrics reach your heart, a wonderful piece of art comes out of it. I pay more attention to the words of the song, that is, the meaning of the poem, rather than the fame of the poets. However, you still cannot know in advance which of your songs will become a hit. Another reason for this is that artificial intelligence has appeared now. With its help, amazingly good songs are being prepared. Both the vocal range and the musical polish in it are coming out very perfect. But still, they cannot be invited to a wedding. They still turn to us for live performance, says the singer.

"My price depends on the attitude"

Jaloliddin Ahmadaliyev announced that performing at weddings in Tashkent costs 5 thousand dollars, and for weddings in the regions, it is 7–8 thousand dollars.

— The price for our service at weddings in Tashkent is set at 5 thousand dollars. Now I will tell you everything from scratch with proof. I have one song called "Yetmasmidi?". Its arrangement was done by Turks. This song cost a lot of money. A lot of money went into the song itself. Yigitali Mamajonov and Aysanem Yusupova starred in its music video. They don't work for free either. I have 11 musicians, we are 12 people with me. The livelihood of so many people is within that 5 thousand dollars. Plus, I sing live; the artists who sing live at weddings in Tashkent can be counted on fingers. But I must mention one thing. We don't set such a price for everyone.

People call and say to my assistant, "Are you that guy's what's-his-name?". Whose what's-his-name? Whose what? If they at least said, "Are you that guy's administrator or Jaloliddin's what's-his-name?", it would be somewhat understandable. To a person who behaves like this, the administrator also replies, "Yes, I am that guy's what's-his-name," and quotes a price of 5 or 6 thousand dollars. Now, he quotes the price according to their attitude. But actually, our service fee is not 5 thousand dollars. For example, if there are 2-3 weddings in Tashkent in one day, we go for a very cheap price, says the singer.

"I have no intention of coming to the capital"

Jaloliddin Ahmadaliyev spoke about why he does not move to Tashkent and create art here.

— I don't have a house in Tashkent. I have no intention of moving to Tashkent either, because I cannot leave my parents. And my parents do not want to live in Tashkent, he says.

"I don't take advertisements, because..."

— If they invite me for an advertisement, I deliberately ask for a lot of money. Mostly construction companies contact me regarding housing advertisements. I participated in such a housing advertisement once, and after that, I decided not to take other advertisements. Even if they invite me now, I ask for a high price to get a refusal. Because if tomorrow the cadastre of that house is not issued or its gas does not come, I might be blamed. If some problem arises, since my face is well-known, if people say "we bought it trusting you," that money I earned will not taste sweet to me. If it is an advertisement that is truly useful to the people, I can even do it for free, — says Jaloliddin Ahmadaliyev.

"I am grateful that I did not get deeply involved in show business"

— Show business turned out to be different from what we thought. It seems we thought everyone was like us. It seems we didn't know that many things happen in show business. Well, whoever plays foul, let it be on their own neck. The important thing is, we are keeping our composure and living peacefully. Thank God we did not get too involved in show business. I am not a PR person myself. I have never done PR in my life. On the eve of my concert, I might make a joke for promotion, but this is nothing more than a joke. But often my life becomes PR on its own, says the singer.

"Peace of mind is the supreme blessing"

— Peace of mind is one of the supreme blessings given by Allah. This is the most necessary and supreme blessing itself. If you lack peace of mind, neither the money you earn, nor the applause of the fans, nor the buildings you build, nor the cars you drive will appear valuable to your eyes.

"Leave me alone, I want to see what is at the peak"

— In my life, I was not a person who had ever entered a courtroom. God forbid, may God not show it hereafter either. After I entered art, such things started. Because I sang someone's poem as a song without asking, talks and paying fines started. And the matter does not end with fines alone. When you enter the courtroom, those people say, "what are you doing here?".

At those times, things like this happened. Whoever it was, they kept suing for copyright, saying "you sang these four lines of my poem, you sang one line of it." In the end, it got past my soul. At that time, I posted on my social media page, saying "let me live too, leave me alone now. I just want to know what is at the top. I will tell you myself what I saw," he says.
