Israeli Artist Alik Irovich takes part in XI Tashkent International Biennale of Modern Art

Israeli artist Alik Irovich took part in the Tashkent International Biennale of Modern Art, an important venue for artistic expression and international cultural exchange, the Embassy of Israel said.

Alik Irovich’s artistic practice examines complex literary, religious, and philosophical themes, drawing on history, science, symbolism, mysticism, personal experience, and imagination. Through his paintings, he aims to uncover the links between ideas, historical narratives, and spiritual traditions, encouraging viewers to find deeper meanings beyond the visible image.

Explaining his approach to art, Irovich says that painting is a process of exploration and discovery. The subject of a work may gradually reveal itself during its creation, while its full meaning may only become clear long after the painting is finished. This reflects his interest in the changing relationship between artistic expression, intellectual inquiry, and personal interpretation.

The artist is now working on a series of circular portraits of major literary figures, including Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Dante Alighieri, and Jonathan Swift. He is also continuing his illustrations for Dante’s Divine Comedy and producing paintings inspired by religious and philosophical themes.

The Embassy of Israel expresses its sincere gratitude to the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan for organizing the Biennale and for offering an important platform for artists from different countries to present their work, exchange ideas, and engage in intercultural dialogue. The Academy’s efforts to promote contemporary art and encourage international artistic cooperation make a valuable contribution to the cultural life of Uzbekistan.

The participation of Israeli artists in international cultural events in Uzbekistan helps strengthen cultural ties between the two countries. Such exchanges create opportunities for Israeli and Uzbek audiences to discover different artistic perspectives, engage with shared cultural and intellectual heritage, and build new connections through contemporary art.

The Embassy of Israel welcomes initiatives that promote dialogue and cooperation between the peoples of Israel and Uzbekistan and looks forward to further opportunities to develop cultural relations between the two countries.
