Iran intends to blacklist vessels that enter the restricted zone near the Strait of Hormuz

Iran will begin imposing restrictions on vessels that enter a new restricted zone in the area of the Strait of Hormuz without coordination with Tehran.

This was announced by Hossein Mohebi, a representative of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. According to him, the new zone will begin approximately in the area of Chabahar and will cover part of the waters of the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea. Tehran intends to announce the exact coordinates and details of the regime later.

Enemy vessels and commercial ships that enter these waters without coordination with Iran will be placed on a sanctions list. In particular, they may be denied maritime, insurance, and auxiliary services, and the restrictions will also apply during their subsequent passages through the Strait of Hormuz.
